 Atlanta Rappers Continue To Dominate Sales Charts

Atlanta rappers continue to sell units, evident by the most recent SoundScan Music Sales report. Specifically, Atlanta’s own Future, 2 Chainz, and Young Jeezy continue to make the ATL proud with their sales success.

Atlanta Rappers Album Sales

After 25 consistent weeks on the charts, Atlanta’s Future continues to move units of his debut album Pluto. This past week Pluto sold another 4,195 copies bringing the total sales of Future’s project to 175,420.

We expect Future to see a spike in Pluto sales as his latest single “Turn On The Light” continues to pick up momentum. There is also word of a re-release of Future Pluto which is sure to bring the sales spike to life.

Seven is a lucky number for some, but for Atlanta’s 2 Chainz, it’s the number of weeks his debut album Based On A T.R.U. Story has been charting. Powered by singles like “No Lie ft. Drake” and “Birthday Song ft. Kanye West”, 2 Chainz’s album sold another 14,636 copies this past week bringing the artist-formerly-known-as Tity Boi to
302,781 in total album sales.

B.o.B.’s Strange Clouds album continues to stay on the charts. This week Strange Clouds sells 1,864 copies; 234,098 copies of Bobby Ray’s have been sold to date.

It’s been 42 weeks since Young Jeezy released TM 103: Hustlerz Ambition, but Jizzle continues to keep a presence on the SoundScan charts. Jeezy pushed another 1,648 units this past week bringing the total sales of TM 103 to 649,803.

Single Sales by Atlanta Rappers

Future’s Pluto has spawned a variety of hits, notably “Magic” and “Same Damn Time”. Fire Marshall Future’s latest single from Pluto, Turn On The Lights, has sold 215661 units. Compared to last week, “Turn On The Lights” sales are up seven percent (7%). Here’s what ATLRap said about “Turn On The Lights” in our Pluto Album Review.

Future isn’t the only Atlanta rapper with a single that sold more this week than the week before. 2 Chainz’s Kanye West assisted “Birthday Song” is up six percent (6%). “Birthday Song” has sold 228,501 copies to date.

Another one of 2 Chainz singles continues to chart. “No Lie” features a hook by Drake, which typically equates to sales success. “No Lie” is approaching platinum status with 894,285 copies sold to date.

Finally, T.I.’s “Go Get It” makes a big jump this week. Up forty one percent (41%) from last week, “Go Get It” is approaching 150,000 copies sold.
